The Burnham Tavern Museum in Machias Maine was the site of the first naval battle of the American revolution on June 12, 1775. This historic site is great place to visit during your stay, and is leisurely 5 min walk from the Inn.
Rogue Bluffs State Park is an enjoyable secluded park nestled along Englishman Bay between Great Cove and the Little Kennebec Bay. This seasonal park offers both fresh and saltwater swimming. Walks along the pebbled beach offer sights of maritime life clinging to the rock strewn shores. Beautiful rounded gray rocks and water-worn ocean glass is a favorite find. A picnic area with tables, grills, changing area and a children's playground is offered. This wonderful spot is about a 15 minute drive from the Inn and a great way to spend the day.
The Machias Blueberry festival is a favorite to both locals and visitors kids and adults. There are always tons of unique arts and crafts to enjoy, great music as well as a world class blueberry eating contest the festival is just a minutes walk from the Inn.
